Mr. Fresh and the Supreme Rockers were a breakdancing group known for their classic book, "Breakdancing: Mr. Fresh and the Supreme Rockers Show You How". The book was a common introductory reference for newcomers to the "breakin'" style of dance as it evolved in North America in the 1970s and 1980s.

James Brown Controversy
Mr. Fresh developed the somewhat controversial theory that James Brown was not only the godfather of soul music, but was also responsible for the birth of breakdancing. Fresh's theory was that, through his dynamic on-stage moves, and through songs such as Get on the Good Foot, Brown invented the dance battle. Following the release of Get on the Good Foot in 1969, various "Goot Foot" dancing groups developed in New York City. The style of dance displayed at such dance battles evolved into "B-Boy" dancing and then into what we know today as breakdancing.
Relationship to Sick Dog
Beyond the in-depth study and history of breakdancing presented in "Breakdancing", Fresh's book is also famous for the poetic review provided by Sick dog on Amazon.com. Sick dog writes:
